Can we bring our boat to your facility?

We love to host boaters! The Peace is a great river for boating on. We have river access, but for most boats and trailers it is best to launch at the Shaftesbury Ferry Landing, about 4 km. from our facility. It is possible to tie up at our location.

30 days prior to stay = Full refund of deposit, minus a $50 administration fee.

29 days to 15 days prior to stay = 50% of deposit refunded*

How far ahead should we book?

We recommend as early as possible for all weekend and group bookings, if you are inflexible on the dates. Weekday availability is better than weekends. For individuals, there is always a possibility of having units available at the last minute. Bookings are not confirmed unless payment is received.

Do you have internet and cell service?

There is no cell service or internet at our cabins or campsites. There is a cell signal at the Voyageur building or the house office if you need to make calls or pick up messages. The house suite has full access to cell service and internet.

Will you accommodate group camping?

All combinations of cabins/campers with 4 or more units in their group are required to book either the Outdoor yard only or Indoor/Outdoor of the Voyageur Building. This is to allow other guests some privacy and quiet. Also note that quiet time in our facility is 10:30 pm to 7:30 am.

What are some fun things to do at your site?

Hiking, picnicking, and campfires are relaxing choices that most people do. We also have a couple of nice mountain bikes, bat, balls and ball gloves, badminton equipment, frisbees, and water guns available for use by anyone. Fishing, and rock and fossil hunting can be done on the river bank. If you are more adventurous, book gear for a self guided canoe or kayak trip, or an ultralight familiarization flight. Or with some notice we may be able to provide a guided canoe/kayak/raft trip, or a guided hike for 3 or more people. Check our facebook page for other events that may be scheduled throughout the season.

Can you swim in the Peace River?

The Peace River is a large body of fast moving water. In times of low water (eg. late summer season) there may be small backwaters where swimming could be attempted. However in general, the river should be given healthy respect even by good swimmers. Children and pets should never be allowed near the river without supervision.

Can you fish in the Peace River?

Yes there are a variety of fish in the Peace River including Arctic Grayling, Burbot (Ling Cod), Goldeye, Mountain Whitefish, Northern Pike (jackfish), and Walleye. Fishing can be done off the bank but is best in areas of deep eddies where slow water meets fast water, mouths of feeder streams,  and the outsides of river bends. More info about fishing here. Don't forget to buy a fishing licence.
